Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for managing financial transactions, budgeting and financial reporting for OakLeaf Surgical Hospital.
The role involves working closely with the Chief Financial Officer and Financial Analyst, leadership, the management company, and key stakeholders to ensure accurate financial records and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Essential Job Functions:
Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Generate financial reports for hospital leadership, the management partner, and key stakeholders.
Collaborate with leadership and Financial Analyst to develop annual budgets for various hospital departments.
Manage non-patient accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments.
Oversee the processing of invoices, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in absence of the Financial Analyst.
Coordinate with external auditors during financial audits.
Conduct periodic internal audits to assess compliance and identify areas for improvement.
Monthly reconciliation of the balance sheet accounts for Chief Financial Officer review.
Prepare monthly journal entries in accordance with hospital practices.
Reconcile bank statement.
Assist with monthly deposits.
Complete annual WHA surveys.
Calculate OR utilization report.
Assist with the collection and reporting of financial data as needed.
Complete and submit Medicare Cost Report.
Generate physician statistic reports.
Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.
Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Demonstrates eligibility for employment in the U.
S.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field of study required.
Experience in finance or accounting preferred.
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, required
Previous experience in healthcare finance or hospital accounting preferred
