Finance Accountant I (HWY)

JOB RUSK COUNTY JOB POSITION/DESCRIPTION POSITION: Highway Financial Accountant 1 General Summary: The general purpose of this position is to act under the direction of the Highway Commissioner for ensuring preparation and reconciliation of department payrolls, accounts payable, accounts receivable, receipts, fuel and gas usage and maintains the Highway mapping and index files.
Performs clerical duties as needed and assigned including answering phones and Highway Receptionist.
QualificationsTwo-year Associate degree in Accounting or Administrative Professional or equivalent of two to three years of work experience in accounts receivables/payable and/or accounting related fields or administrative assistant.
Ability to follow existing procedures and instructions and learn new proceduresAbility to set prioritiesEffective public relation skillsComputer experience in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
