We are assisting our client, RB Scott, with the recruitment and selection of a strategic, hands-on Finance and Administration Manager.
RB Scott is a family-owned and operated company that is a specialized dealer of process equipment and wear parts for the Sand & Gravel, Crush Stone, Frac Sand and Recycling industries.
This position is in-person and is primarily located at their Eau Claire, WI location.
The Finance and Administration Manager is a proactive business partner that provides leadership and management of the accounting and financial functions of RBSCOTT Company and GreyHawk Design & Fabrication.
Working with and the organization’s leadership team, the Finance and Administration Manager will be accountable for developing and executing on accounting and finance strategies, policies, and operating procedures to enable the company to meet its objectives.
The Finance and Administration Manager is a player-coach that must exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills to ensure the delivery of timely and accurate service to customers, stakeholders, and colleagues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Finance and Accounting Related Works closely with President and CEO to establish financial objectives and advise on general financial and accounting matters.
Timely prepares and analyzes periodic financial statements and reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) and provides detailed reporting, analysis, and projections to the President and CEO.
Oversees and executes cash flow management, asset management, budgeting, revenue and cost management, operations analysis, and financial reporting.
Safeguards the financial and inventory assets of the business through verification and monitoring programs.
Continuously looking for opportunities to streamline financial processes, increase efficiency, and enhance internal controls.
Supervises and manages accounting department personnel to ensure the accuracy and timely execution of accounting department tasks.
Maintains and ensures adherence to documented accounting policies and procedures aimed at minimizing risk and maximizing accuracy.
Manages, performs, and delegates various periodic bookkeeping and accounting functions to accurately and timely close out fiscal periods.
Manages the general accounting activities of the company, including but not limited to overseeing the cost accounting function, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, daily cash control, fixed asset, inventory, bank reconciliation, and completing tasks as needed.
Ensures the integrity of the general ledger, approves monthly journal entries.
Monitors expenditures, proactively investigates variances and identifies, and implements corrective action.
Must be willing and able to execute the functions of any position within the accounting department in the absence of another employee.
Collaborates with the President, banking partners, and certified public accounting firm to plan for and efficiently conduct annual audit.
Deals responsibly, honestly, and communicates with the President and CEO immediately concerning suspicious or irregular financial transactions.
Human Resource and Company Administration Manages certain human resources activities, including benefit administration, maintenance of human resource policies and procedures, and regular payroll processing.
Manages and administers critical administrative functions such as corporate insurance policies (including liability, property, and workers’ compensation) and Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance.
Oversee the activities of the warehouse, provide coaching and training to employees, recommend and implement process improvements.
Maintain compliance with safety requirements relating to OSHA and MSHA standards.
Advance one’s own professional and technological knowledge by attending workshops and other educational trainings, participating in professional societies, and reading professional and industry publications.
Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities Lead and manage the accounting team, providing guidance, mentorship, and foster a collaborative work environment.
Oversee team performance, goal-setting, and professional development.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: Four-year degree in Accounting or equivalent required, CPA/CMA/MBA highly preferred.
Requires five years of related accounting experience, preferably as a Controller or Finance Manager in a manufacturing or dealership environment.
Experience with business intelligence reporting programs is highly preferred.
Must be able to utilize computerized accounting systems and prepare financial statements efficiently and effectively.
Individual must possess excellent verbal communication skills; professional demeanor and appearance; problem-solving skills; ability to compose business reports and complex business correspondence; ability to manage time effectively; self-motivation skills; ability to build positive work relationships with coworkers and customers; ability to interact professionally with a wide variety of people.
Must be able to perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide, fractions, decimals, percentages), arithmetic, and algebraic calculations.
Physical Requirements: Work is performed largely in a pleasant office environment with minimal chance of personal injury.
Regular contact with customers.
Deadline pressure and stress in dealing with customers (especially in Accounts Receivables situations) is part of the job.
Frequent mental and visual concentration for computer usage and reading/assimilating information.
Work hours are generally during normal business hours and average at least 40 hours per week, with some unscheduled overtime.
Most of the workday is spent sitting.
Alternates walking, standing, and sitting throughout the work shift.
There is daily use of the keyboard, calculator, and telephone.
Requires the ability to receive detailed information through verbal communication.
Requires near- and mid-range vision.
