While receiving leadership support from the Store Team Leader, the Retail Leader Intern advances our mission by serving as a leader within the store and seeking ways to improve operations.
The Retail Leader Intern will ensure all activities are performed in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision, values and brand of Goodwill NCW.
Key Responsibilities
Learns and becomes proficient in the responsibilities of a Shift Leader.
Completes an individual development plan through partnership with leader and/or mentor.
Serves as a store key holder.
Assists with cash handling and cash register reconciliations.
Assists with training, coaching and developing skills of team members under the direction of the Store Team Leader.
Becomes familiar with store goals and plays a role in leading team to achieve the goals.
Maintains a consistent presence throughout the store while engaging with team members and customers.
Supports Goodwills mission through employment and training of people with different abilities.
Selects, completes and presents a Capstone project to leadership team.
Education, Skills & Experience
Must be enrolled full time in accredited education program.
Must have and maintain a minimum C average in program of study.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Excellent time management and prioritization skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under time constraints.
At least a basic level of competency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Outlook.
Willingness and ability to learn and understand new software and other technology applications as applicable.
Willingness and ability to work a minimum of 15-20 hours per week at various hours which may include holidays, evenings and weekends.
We offer flexible scheduling and will work around class schedules.
