The Garden Center Merchandiser is responsible for effectively merchandising and maintaining live goods presentation in Walmart Garden Centers as part of the Neal Mast Garden Center Merchandising Program.
This position requires an individual that is service focused, can communicate corporate garden center direction, and train Walmart associates on best Garden Center practices.
Effective merchandising has a positive effect on retail sales.
Pricing, displays, product packaging, and arrangements, can all drive sales upward while improving the shopping experience for you customers.
Responsibilities:
* Weekly store visits to assigned stores to unload and work all applicable live goods being delivered to the store.
* Setting Garden Center displays by unloading product and effectively merchandising.
* Build and replenish impact displays.
* Water plants when needed.
* Report store opportunities to territory manager.

Requirements:
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Valid state drivers license, insured/reliable vehicle, smart phone, and computer access.
* Previous customer service or retail experience (preferred).
* Must be available to work weekends when needed.
Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organization skills, time management and able to multi-task.
Able to work well with a team and be self-motivated when working unsupervised.
Physical Requirements:
* Must be able to spend long periods of time on your feet
* Must be able to life, move, carry pots and/or trays of flowers and hanging baskets weighing up to 30 lbs.
* Must be able to push/pull rolling racks of potted plants weighing up to 500 lbs (with assistance on heavy racks)
Majority of the work environment will be in Lawn and Garden Centers in all kinds of weather.
