Role Description: Part-Time Seasonal Retail
WHAT IT IS:
At CVG we strive to make it easier for our customers to do business with us.
We strive to have every customer engaged by our staff and offer expertise or assistance throughout their visit.
* Provide Shareworthy Service to all customers
* Some plant maintenance as instructed
* Loading carts, unloading carts, cleaning, sweeping, organizing, consolidating plants, answering phones, and yes, even cleaning a bathroom! That’s right, we’re a Small Business…any job is everyone’s job!
* Operating the POS (cash register)
WHAT IT IS NOT:
Many people apply at CVG believing they will be working with plants and playing in soil all day long.
A RETAIL position at CVG is not this!
* Growing plants.
We have specified staff that cares for our plants daily, often times before many folks are even out of bed.
They do all the watering.
* Sitting around the coffee pot drinking coffee and telling stories.
Our staff at CVG works hard! They are proud of CVG, our product, and act like owners.
They care for our customers and strive to give them a Shareworthy experience.
Requirements:
* Knowledge of POS systems is beneficial, but not required
* General knowledge of plants (annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees) is desired
* Ability to work on your feet for up to 8 hours in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to lift 50 lbs.
* Grit.
Sometimes it’s cold, rainy, windy……sometimes it’s sunny, HOT, and you will sweat a lot.
This is not easy work all the time.
* Flexibility.
Hours vary.
Must be available for at least 20 hours per week, more is often necessary in the month of May.
Shifts vary, we try to keep them under 6 hours/day except on our busy weekends.
* Must be available evenings and weekends.
* Job runs from April 2024 into mid/end of summer depending on shift availability and your desire for hours.
The good stuff: You will be part of a great group of folks who have developed friendships with co-workers often times extending beyond the walls of CVG.
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary
Pay: $12.
00 - $14.
00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
Schedule:
* 4 hour shift
* 8 hour shift
* Day shift
* Evening shift
* Monday to Friday
* Weekends as needed
