The Parts Counter Advisor sells parts to customers over the counter, through the shop and over the telephone.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist all customers (retail and shop) in selecting parts in a friendly, professional and efficient manner.
Inform customers of companion part requirements and specials, ensures that the customer is exposed to the full production line.
Answer phone calls to provide price quotes and other information.
Review service estimates to ensure that parts that are ordered are correct and all pricing is in line with the estimate.
Provide high level of service to internal and external customers.
Pull and fill orders from stock.
Notify parts manager of out-of-stock parts or materials that need immediate attention.
Locate out-of-stock parts and materials from outside source and submit an orders, as necessary.
Notify the service advisors and customers when special order parts have been received.
Pull orders for delivery to service department, making sure that all parts are tagged with customer names and repair order numbers.
Follow up on back-ordered parts.
Verify will-call and back order files weekly and returns to vendors, or stock those items not picked up or required.
Replenish assigned inventory daily.
Make sure all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair order.
Receive payment from retail customers or obtain credit authorization.
Ensure that all charge sales are signed by customer.
Ensure that all customers receive a copy of the invoice.
Issue credit for parts returned, ensuring that the original invoice, or its number, is available so that purchasing and pricing can be verified.
Keep orderly records of all repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates and special order parts.
Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery or pick-up.
Keep counter areas clean and uncluttered.
Participate in training programs.
Keep current on new products and product updates.
Participate with parts manager in maintaining a lost sales tracking program.
Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED Equivalent Desired
No Licenses or Certifications Requested

Class D - Regular (Auto, Light Truck, Moped) Required
No Endorsement Requested
18 or older Required
Read and comprehend instructions and information.
Excellent oral and written skills
Two years parts or service dealership experience is preferred
Possess a high school diploma or the equivalent
Work comfortably with the public.
Tidy, professional appearance.
Current driver's license with a good driving record
Must be able to work the following schedule:
Monday – Friday 8:00 a.
m.
– 5:00 p.
m.
and alternating Saturdays
Special events may require additional hours.
