Develop, maintain, and improve compliance of all customer expectations for production products.
Process Engineers are responsible for assurance of deisgn for manufacturability of new products, establishing production processes, maintaining or exceeding quoted standards, implementation and training of new or existing equipment, plant layout, and maintaining consisten, accurate communication to all parties involved.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assure compliance of all customer expectations of job/blueprint specifications, notes, tolerances, etc.
Attend all new tool red line drawing reviews and kickoffs to assure design for manufacturability.
Source all needed tooling, materials, components with outside sources while insuring all cost targets are met.
Perform cost studies for evaluation of process improvement.
Perform all first shot samples and cost studies for approval of production processes.
Develops and maintains work instructions for production approved products.
Assure customer perception of 100% on time performance for ECN’s and production improvements.
Attend daily production meeting, on time, or have representation to support manufacturing/customer needs.
Complete identified checklists for production approval of products.
Provides technical knowledge and training on manufacturing methods and equipment operation.
Review and approve all ECN or BOM changes to assure margins are being maintained.
Evaluates equipment capabilities, maintenance, specifies and recommends new equipment purchases.
Updates and presents production qualified product matrix.
Design/Development Input for Fixtures work holding devices.
Setup of secondary operations equipment for production.
Facilitates communication to insure 100% customer (external and internal) satisfaction.
Specifies, recommends, and implements plant layout additions and improvements.
Develop part and tooling quotes with Tooling Engineer/Engineering Estimator for takeover programs.
Develop and maintain standards for manufacturing.
Responsible for package quantities/layout to ensure parts arrive without damage to customer
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in a related field; or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
