Responsible for supporting print operators in the efficient manufacturing of branded print merchandise that meets the quality standards of Powertex, as well as our customers.
Works to keep the printing press properly prepped for continuous production and learns all associated tasks in order to fill in as an operator as/when required.
Primary duties include, but are not limited to:
Reviews the Print Production Schedule.
Pulls ink, sample book, garments and screens for the current order and subsequent orders whenever possible
Ensures the press is fully stocked with clean squeegees, knives, wash and any other supplies
Stays in front of the press operation by having 1 to 3 jobs staged and ready for the press to facilitate an efficient press changeover
Read and fully understand the Job Traveler prior to staging product or assisting in the setup of the press
Demonstrate knowledge, experience, and support for material handling, running the dryer, catching, packaging, labeling and product quality
Continuously inspects print quality.
Inspection to include but not limited to: fuzz or strings in image, print out of registration, pinholes, running out of ink or item defects
Learns machine troubleshooting and how to resolve print related issues in a timely fashion
Professionally communicates up and down stream of the Print Assistance role to ensure the production line is always on the same page
Reports maintenance related issues/concerns to the Print Operator so they can request service via MaintainX software
Assists in routine preventative maintenance as outlined/required for the machine
Ensures inventory levels for print supplies are maintained.
Alerts Print Operator when print supplies are at or near reorder levels
Supports company Ethos in our daily work environment
Maintain professionalism in all communication and actions when working with internal or external customers
Works to support the Print Operator and production line to ensure expectations of quality and efficiency are being met
Follows all safety protocol, uses the appropriate PPE where required
Supports all housekeeping efforts and the Print Operator in ensuring standards are met and maintained in the immediate work area(s)
Drives the proper press cleanup after each job to ensure the press is ready for the next job/operator.
This is to include but is not limited to ink in print station, flood bars, screens removed and job specific supplies are properly removed
Supports all Lean initiatives
Supports improvement opportunities and is willing to offer suggestions/continuous improvement ideas as it relates to printing operations
Demonstrates the desire to learn up stream activities to better prepare yourself and the department for increased quality, accuracy and efficiency
Performs other duties as requested
Qualifications and requirements:
Previous garment screen printing manufacturing experience highly desirable
Previous manufacturing exposure via machine operation or support roles desirable
High School diploma or equivalent required
Additional information:
This position requires working from a standing position with frequently lifting <25lbs, kneeling, crouching, twisting and bending.
This is a full-time position.
