75/hr with a raise to $24.
80 after passing the 30-day probationary period.

*Woodhandler Description*
The employee helps the Excelsior Machine Operators in the production of excelsior by neatly piling 19 inch blocks of Aspen Wood from conveyor belts onto carts and moves the carts to the excelsior room.
*This job is very physical and involves loading nearly 300 carts of wood or moving 300 carts of wood from one room to another each shift.
*
*PHYSICAL DEMANDS:* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
The employee frequently is required to walk and climb or balance.
*The employee must repeatedly lift and/or move 45 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds*.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
*WORK ENVIRONMENT: *Steel/composite toe boots/shoes, safety glasses, bump cap, and hearing protection are required.
The working conditions are noisy and dusty; associates are regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.

*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES *include the following:
Stacks 19" blocks of wood in a uniform manner on a wood cart.
Piles the wood on the carts neatly and safely.
Works in conjunction with other Woodhandlers, Feeders, and Sawyer as a team.
Removes the dirt and debris from the aisles promptly.
Splits large diameter (12 inches and up) blocks to facilitate the feeding of the blocks.
Moves fully loaded wood carts to the excelsior room.
Moves empty carts and/or oversized wood back to block piling room.
Cools down machines using oil, water and an air hose as needed.
Recognizes mechanical problems.
Covers excelesior machine operator duties 45 minutes every night.
Helps keep the general flow of product moving smoothly.
Cooperates with the excelsior machine operators.
Looks for and rejects non-conforming raw materials.
