* *JOB SUMMARY: *Responds to a medical call, gives appropriate medical first aid and activates EMS System, if necessary.
Safeguards employees, guests and assets to help provide a safe environment at the Casino.
Stocking and cleaning of supplies.
*QUALIFICATIONS: * Native American preference.
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Successful completion of an approved First Responder course.
Must be proficient in report writing and communication within department standards.
Must be able to communicate verbally with the ability to follow instructions.
Must have good writing skills, including spelling and punctuation.
Must have basic math skills.
Must be CPR/AED certified.
Must have good judgment skills and understand basic Medical-Legal principles.
Must maintain a caring professional attitude and appearance.
Must be able to perform within the limitations of a First Responder scope of practice.
The employee will be on the Security Staff and follow the departmental policies and procedures.
The Medical Officer position is secondary and the employee will be required to follow these policies/procedures as deemed necessary.
*PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS: *Able to handle multiple tasks.
Must have good judgment skills and remain calm in stressful situations.
Must be able to secure a scene for crowd control.
Must be able to lift up to 125 pounds for transport of patient, if needed.
Must be able to stoop, crouch, push and pull.
*ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: * Responds to medical calls and give appropriate medical first aid including vital signs.
Determines the extent of the incident and calls EMS, if necessary.
Controls the scene for crowd control, gives tasks to other staff in relation, fills out medical reports accurately.
Monitors the patient until EMS arrives and relays important and appropriate information.
May assist the EMS team.
Initiates CPR/AED treatment and/or administers oxygen, if necessary.
Restocks and replaces used supplies in the first aid room.
Reports to OHS Administrator for medical concerns.
Responsible for keeping up-to-date on CPR/AED and certifications/licenses.
Follows First Responder scope of practice and HIPAA guidelines.
Provides pre-hospital emergency care of simple trauma.
Faxes paperwork to appropriate hospital, including downloading of AED.
Responsible for medical reports being sent to appropriate parties within the facility.
Uses infection control and appropriate personal protective equipment with all patients.
Must be able to meet the attendance guidelines of the position, adhere to and enforce all departmental and company policies, and attend all mandatory trainings.
Must comply with and enforce all safety policies and rules.
